How To Install Pleated Blinds?

Window blinds are a popular addition to any home. They provide privacy, insulation and can add style to any room. There are many different types of window blinds available on the market, but one of the most popular is pleated blinds. Pleated blinds are easy to install and can be done by anyone. In this article, we will show you how to install pleated blinds in your home.

Installation Guide:

The brackets come with two installation options: top-fix and face-fix.

  • The blind's outermost brackets should be installed at least 5cm in from the blind's ends. Any remaining brackets can be uniformly spaced across the blind's width.
  • Always ensure that the top of the blind is installed at least 150cm (1500mm) from the floor for safety reasons.

If you purchased a Click 2 FitTM rail

  • Push the lever firmly upwards until the rail snaps into position, then hold the Click 2 FitTM rail against the top of the recess. If the rail isn't quite snug enough, it can be readily tightened.
  • There is an adjustment block at the end of the rail, opposite the lever, that allows you to fine-tune the rail's fit. Twist the small red plugs in toward the centre of the rail using a flat-head screwdriver. Slide the block a few centimetres out of the rail, then twist the red plugs back into their original positions to secure the block. Make only minor tweaks, and repeat as needed.

Set up the blind

  • Place the headrail's front lip into the front of the bracket.
  • To lock the headrail into the back of the bracket, push it upwards.
  • Push firmly on the blind's headrail to disengage it from the front of the bracket at any time after installation to free it from the brackets. Twist the back of the headrail downwards at the same time to free it from the back.

Condenser Cord

A breakaway cord condenser is pre-fitted to the lift cords so that it safely breaks away when a horizontal force is applied to the cords above it, eliminating any hazardous loops.

Best Advice

The design of the condenser can vary, so don't be concerned if yours doesn't match the illustration perfectly. Both designs perform the same function and can be clipped back together in the same manner.

  • Untwist the cords so they're neat and straight if the cord condenser is pushed apart.
  • Place the cords in the center of one half of the condenser's channel. Simply fit any cords that aren't already tied into position inside in the same manner.
  • Reassemble the two sections, making sure there's no loose thread trapped between the condenser's edges.

Safety for children

Keep cables out of the reach of little children to avoid strangling and entanglement. Beds, cots, and furniture should be moved away from window covering cords.
Cords should not be tied together.
Ensure that the cords do not twist and form a loop.

Cleat for Cord Safety

  • The safety cleat should be positioned as close to the headrail of the blind as practicable, but not less than 1500mm from the floor. When the blind is not in use, the cable must be fully gathered around the safety cleat(s).
  • Place the safety cleat in the desired location on the wall and use a pencil to indicate the location of the holes.
  • Mark the locations of the holes and drill as needed. Attach the safety cleat to the wall with the provided screws.
  • Wrap the cords around the cord cleats. When the cables are fully accumulated, secure them such that no surplus cord is released when any cord is tugged.

What are the benefits of using pleated blinds in your home?

  • Pleated shades are available in transparent, light-filtering, and blackout opacities with liners, making them ideal for any sun-filtering shades.
  • You can choose designs and textures that complement your vision for your area from a wide range of colors, including white, subtle neutrals, and bold brilliant hues.
  • These blinds' shades contain precise pleats from top to bottom in both 1" and 2" plates, and they will re-pleat beautifully every time they are raised.
